Mikko Olavi Korsbäck, born 27 April 1976 in Ljusne, he is the drummer, songwriter and the mastermind of the band.
Mikko started Insania together with his friend and guitarist Henrik Juhano in 1992 (see Insania). During his teenage years, Mikko got his first guitar, and after playing drums and keyboards since the age of about 5, the guitar was now also included among his greatest interests. Songwriting took off already in his early teens and together with Henrik Juhano several of the songs recorded on Insania’s albums were written.
Mikko also performs in various cover bands, and as a troubadour. Some of the bands he appears in besides Insania are 665- Almost Evil, (a cover band consisting of a number of musicians, including Peter Östros and Dimitri Keiski from Insania, where they usually perform as a trio, quartet or quintet, depending on what is desired. The repertoire consists of everything from ballads, pop, rock, hard rock, and all possible and impossible requests. During some gigs they use an electric violinist to get an Irish touch in the music.
Another cover band that Mikko is in is KOJAK, which consists of Micke Östling (who plays with The Matchmen, among other things), Mikko Korsbäck and Dimitri Keiski (singer and bassist in Insania). Micke Östling is an electric guitarist. Korsbäck and Keiski take turns singing and playing bass, as well as playing drums. The band performs both in Sweden and Finland, with a repertoire inspired by all kinds of rock from both the 60s and 70s, to new radio rock.
